Tony is just meh. He is just a bad person the entire movie, and then suddenly in the last 5 minutes everything turns around and the head chef/main love interest likes him again even though Bourdain didn't do anything to deserve it.
I like fish out of water trope but we don't get a real dip into any of the other characters. It's like we meet all these distinct, cool characters but we don't get much about their lives at all.
Dominic Sessa is good at playing the emotion of angst. Not much else.
